Use of urea derivatives of cyan acetic acid, particularly dimethyl(cyanoacetyl)urea, as stabilizers for chlorinated thermoplastic polymers

Use of urea derivatives of cyan acetic acid of formula (I) as stabilizers for chlorinated thermoplastic polymers to give improved stability on heating. Use of urea derivatives of cyan acetic acid of formula (I) as stabilizers for chlorinated thermoplastic polymers: NC-CH2CON(R<1>)CONHR<2> (I) R<1> and R<2> = 1-18C alkyl or 6-18C aryl optionally substituted by 1-6C alkyl. Independent claims are included for a stabilizer composition containing compound (I) and a stabilization process involving using (I).
