The system has a first module with a device for transforming a privacy code using a transformation pattern, a device for decoding an encoded test object in a pilot object using the privacy code and a device for comparing the pilot object with a stored test object. The second module recovers the received privacy code by recursively trying transformation patterns to produce a hypothetical privacy code until a comparison indicates the correct code. The system has a first module (100) with a device (112) for transforming a privacy code using a randomly selected transformation pattern for transfer to a second module (200), a device (106) for decoding an encoded test object in a pilot object received by the second module using the privacy code, a device (140) for comparing the pilot object with a stored test object and a second module. The second module recovers the received privacy code by recursively trying transformation patterns to produce a hypothetical privacy code until the comparison indicates the correct code.
