The front optical element mounting (3) for spectacles consists of two holders (5) which are connected by a bridge (6) and which are made of a metal sufficiently soft and flexible to be matched to the contour of the element (4) by hand or by hand-tools while forming the fixed part of a mounting, in which each holder (5) seats on part of the periphery of the element (4) and a filamental elastic fastening element, fitted to the ends (9,10) encloses the remaining periphery of the element (4). Pref. the filamental fastening element is a nylon filament. Also claimed is a front attachment with the above mounting for clipping onto spectacles.
