PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding device utilizing the sliding, which can provide an excellent friction coefficient equal to or more than the friction coefficient of roll sliding and can adapt to high load, without any special lubricating means and with a simple structure, although the sliding device utilizes the sliding. SOLUTION: A sliding device comprises two sliding members of which sliding faces are brought into contact with each other. The sliding face of at least one of the sliding members is made of ceramics. The sliding device further comprises a cooling means for cooling the sliding face made of ceramics to which the moisture in the atmosphere is adhered.
