<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight, to decrease a mechanical loss due to a viscous joint, to facilitate remove working of the viscous joint, and to ensure a stable torque property of the viscous joint. SOLUTION: In this power transmission device for a four-wheel drive vehicle, a joint case of a joint system is attached to a differential gear carrier of the four-wheel drive vehicle, and a viscous joint composed of an inner member, an outer member and a power transmitting member is provided in the joint case. Either one of the inner member or the outer member is connected to a propeller shaft, and the other of the inner member or the outer member is journalled to the joint case and connected to a pinion shaft. An oil seal sealing the inside of the differential gear carrier to the inside of the joint case is provided, and oil is not filled into the joint case but the differential gear carrier.</p> |
