PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the mutual matching of continuous documents to be gathered and enhance the yield of document preparation in preparing bound forms, with regard to a form gathering device for bonding and gathering the continuous document consisting of a specified number of continuous unit documents and the continuous documents to be gathered respectively, a document sheet and bound documents. SOLUTION: Continuous documents consisting of continuous unit documents having identification marks are set in each of gathering units and these identification marks are detected between the unit documents intended for gathering by a mark detecting means 12. Further, based on the detection results, respective coating means 15 apply an adhesive to the continuous documents which are, in turn, conveyed and gathered by a conveying/gathering means 16 under the control of a control means 14. Alternatively, the adhesive applied by the coating means 15 is detected by an adhesive detecting means 13 and the driving of the conveying/gathering means 16 is controlled by the control means 14 depending upon the detection results.
