PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which data is received for every color component in units of one lines from a host apparatus and stored in a receiving buffer, and data of each color component is read out and processed all at once by a plurality of pixels by a rendering circuit. SOLUTION: In transmitting data to the printer from a host computer, data of four colors is not transmitted pixel by pixel, but is transmitted line by line for each color. Therefore, the number of accesses of a receiving buffer at the printer side is reduced and a processing speed is increased.
