PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which improves efficacy of photocatalyst deodorization, prevents deterioration of performance, and reduces the gas concentration of discharged air when used in combination with active carbon, and which can be realized by a simple structure. SOLUTION: This air cleaner has a filter chamber 8 and a blower chamber 9 formed by partitioning the inside of a cleaner case 1 having a suction opening 3 and an outlet with a partition plate 7 having a bell-mouth 7z. A dust-collecting filter 10, an active carbon filter 11, a photoatalyst layer 12, and a light source 13 are arranged in the filter chamber 8, and a blower 14 is arranged in the blower chamber 9 opposing to the bellmouth 7z. A discharge port 7a which returns a part of the discharged air from the blower 14 to the filter chamber 8 is formed in the partition plate 7 and the photocatalyst layer 12 formed in a cylindrical form with opposing to the discharge port 7a and the light source 13 inside it are arranged.
