PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection structure of a rubber-made crawler belt in a caterpillar traveling apparatus which can improve the service life of the rubber-made crawler. SOLUTION: This protection structure includes plural lower rollers disposed on the lower surface side of a track frame 1a, the rubber-made crawler belt 14 wrapped round the outer periphery of the track frame 1a, and a sliding member 2a fitted to the lower surface part of the track frame 1a, wherein a sliding circular-arc surface 3a is provided extending from the lower end surface of the track frame 1a to the lower position in the sliding member 2a. Thus, even if the rubber-made crawler belt 14 gets on an obstacle such as a rock or the like to be deformed like a bow to the track frame 1a side, with the inner surface side of the rubber-made crawler belt 14 brought into contact with the sliding circular-arc 3a of the sliding member 2a positioned below the lower end surface of the track frame 1a, sliding is performed so as to hold down abrasion of the inside of the rubber-made crawler belt 14 to the minimum.
