PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA-binding protein which controls the expression of a xylanase gene derived from Aspergillus oryzae and DNA encoding the protein. SOLUTION: The protein has an amino acid sequence shown in sequence 1, and controls the expression of the xylanase gene. The DNA has a base sequence shown in sequence 2, and encodes the protein, or is a recombinant plasmid containing at least a part of the base sequence.
