PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optimal sprinkled water pattern even when installed on a high ceiling and evaluate performance so as to judge easily whether it is intended for a high ceiling or a low ceiling. SOLUTION: Sprinkler heads 9a to 9c are structured so as to sprinkle water downward so that a water sprinkle area may not expand excessively when installed on a high ceiling. An ideal sprinkled water distribution G10 to G1.4 is measured between the radius of sprinkle and the quantity of sprinkled water at a position a prescribed height Ht lower than a head installation position by a spray test of a sprinkler head to be evaluated, and by comparing an actually measured sprinkler head's sprinkled water distribution and an ideal sprinkled water distribution G10 to F1.4, the effective installation height of a head is obtained.
