PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately reduce the transmission operating force with a simple system structure. SOLUTION: This transmission operating force reducing device is formed of a shifting lever 5 of a transmission 1 to be operated by a driver, a shifting transmitting means 6 for transmitting the operating force and the operating direction input to the shifting lever 5 to the transmission 1, shift position detecting means 30A-30C fitted to the shifting lever 5 or the shifting transmitting means 6 so as to detect the neural position and the shifting stage engaging position of the transmission 1, a motor 10 connected to the shifting transmitting means 6, and a motor control means 22 for operating the motor 10 so as to assist the shifting transmitting means 6 along the operating direction of the shifting lever 5 during the movement of the shifting lever 5 or the shifting transmitting means 6 from the neutral position to the shifting stage engaging position.
