PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composite material having a new textured structure and bearing a combination of both the excellent properties of the ceramic and polymer. SOLUTION: This composite material is such one as to comprise a ceramic sintered compact with numerous open cells and a polymer present in a line so as to form a network in the cells. The composite material is obtained by polymerization of a monomer in such a condition as to be filled in the cells of a porous ceramic sintered compact.
