PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TREATING ORGANIC WASTEWATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic wastewater treatment equipment capable of inhibiting membrane clogging from being caused and also reducing membrane washing cost. SOLUTION: This equipment is provided with: a biological treatment vessel 2 for subjecting organic-matter-containing water to be treated to biological treatment to obtain biologically treated water; a membrane filter 5 for subjecting the biologically treated water to membrane filtration to obtain membrane filtrate water; a COD removal means 9 for removing COD components in the membrane filtrate water to obtain treated water; a backwashing water vessel 12 for adding ozone to a portion of the treated water to obtain ozone-treated water; and means 15 and 16 for withdrawing the ozone-treated water from the backwashing water vessel 12 and supplying the withdrawn ozone-treated water to the membrane filter 5 through its membrane filtration side.
