PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas oil composition which has a low sulfur content and high response to the addition of a lubrication improver. SOLUTION: This gas oil composition contains 30 vol% or more of a low sulfur gas oil base material which has a sulfur content of 0.005 mass% or less and a Saybolt color of -15 or more and +15 or less based on the total amount of the gas oil composition and has a sulfur content of 0.005 mass% or less.
