PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a bad effect on a heat insulating characteristic by binder components by using porous body granule excellent in heat insulating performance and provide a heat insulating material and a heat insulating box body having an excellent heat insulating property. SOLUTION: This heat insulting material is one made of porous body granule 5 having a diameter of 10 mm or below and resin film 6 coating porous body granule 5. Porous body granule 5 is characterized by adhering to adjacent porous body granule 5 at only the contact by resin coating the surface and forming molding body.
