<p>PURPOSE:To provide a coating die which can be set easily and is free from the leak of the coating resin, by using a die bushing splittable longitudinally into two pieces and composed of the upper and lower cylindrical parts and the intermediate truncated cone, and setting the bushing to the tapered through-hole formed at the bottom of the die block contacting the intermediate part of the bushing with the tapered wall. CONSTITUTION:The resin coating die bushing 11 is splittable into two pieces and is composed of the hollow cylinder 12, the truncated cone 13 and the hollow cylinder 14 having smaller diameter. The face of the pieces are contacted closely with each other, and the bushing is inserted into the tapered through-hole 22 at the bottom 21 of the die block 19 which plays also the role of a resin reservior. The coating resin 23 in the reservior 20 is passed through the horizontal holes 17 bored in the body of the truncated cone 13 into the tapered groove 15 of the die bushing 11, and flowed out through the releasing groove 16 to form a resin coating layer 25 to the surface of the optical fiber 24. The inner wall of the hollow cylinder 14 is furnished with an outwardly inclined diffusion groove (not shown) to guide the resin 23 leaked from the releasing groove 16 outward and prevent the adhesion of the resin 23 to the optical fiber 24.</p> |
