PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cycloalkanone and a cycloalkanol from a corresponding epoxycycloalkane and/or epoxycycloalkene and hydrogen gas in a high yield. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a mixture of a cycloalkanone and a cycloalkanol by bringing an epoxycycloalkane and/or epoxycycloalkene into contact with hydrogen gas in the presence of a platinum group catalyst, α-alumina is used as a carrier for the platinum group catalyst to give the method for producing the mixture of the cycloalkanone and the cycloalkanol.
