PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery box structure for an electric automobile having the excellent holding and mounting workability of a battery, and improving battery mounting efficiency. SOLUTION: The peripheral wall of a battery box body 1 has an inner wall 6 and an outer wall 5, and comprises a stay 23 extending over upper surface outer end edges 30b of plural batteries 30 disposed in a line within the battery box 1 along the inner wall 6, a welding nut 22 arranged on an outer surface of the inner wall 6, and a mounting bolt 27 screwed with the nut 22 and threaded between the stay 23 and the nut 22 to press the stay 23 on the upper surface outer end edge 30b of the battery 30 so as to hold the battery 30.
