PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder of rolling diaphragm type produced by use of a low-cost extruded cylinder member. SOLUTION: A long cylinder member having an extruded hollow part is cut into a specified size, a front side bonnet 15 and a rear side bonnet 15' one end of which is closed with a rod cover 13 and a head cover 12, the circumferential edge of an opening of the bonnet is cut to form a stepped part 19, into an inner wall of the stepped part a ring 6 is fitted, and a bead part 43 of a diaphragm is fixed to the ring.
