PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooker so designed that after cooking, food packed in a bag can be cooled in cold water and then taken out, instead of being taken out of extremely hot water. SOLUTION: In the cooker 1, a cooking kettle 2 is constituted of an inner pot 7 and an outer pot 8 placed outside the inner pot with a jacket space 9 formed in-between. The cooking kettle feeds heating steam into the jacket space 9 from above and further discharges steam at the lower part, thereby heating water reserved in the inner pot 7 to cook food packed in a bag. When a drain valve 4 installed in the cooking kettle is opened after cooking, the extremely hot water is discharged from the inner pot 7. After the drain valve is closed, tapwater is supplied to the inner pot 7 and further water cooled through an iced water cooler 17 is supplied to the jacket space 9.
