PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lubricate the screw portion of a shank rod, and to prevent damage thereof incurred due to abrasion and seizure caused by generated heat. SOLUTION: There is provided a rock drill 1 which is comprised of a shank rod 2 to which a rod 11 is screw-connected, a drive piston 3 for driving the shank rod 2, a chuck driver 6 for rotating the shank rod 2, and a refueling hole 13 for supplying lubricating oil to the chuck driver 6 and the shank rod 2. In this rock drill 1, a lubricating oil hole 15 for supplying the lubricating oil to a screw portion 12 connecting the shank rod 2 and the rod 11 together, is formed at the center of the shank rod 2, to thereby lubricate the screw portion 12 of the shank rod 11.
