PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine exhaust muffler which can simply attached and removed, and which can exhibit excellent sound suppression effect without being subjected to restriction to the space thereof. SOLUTION: In an exhaust muffler 9 having more than one of expansion chambers 29A to 29D in a casing 21 of the water muffler 10, and adapted to mix exhaust gas G introduced from an engine 4 with cooling water W after cooling the engine, in the expansion chambers, a resonance chamber 33 communicated with the expansion chamber 29A is defined in the casing 21 which is composed of a cylindrical wall 22, and end walls 23, 24 closing both ends of the cylindrical wall 22. The resonance chamber 33 is defined, for example, by the end wall 23 and an intermediate wall 34 attached in the casing 21.
