PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the slip of a rim without damaging the steering stability and the ride quality during the traveling condition in an assembly of a tire and a rim which can considerably reduce the danger of a flat tire, and to improve the steering stability and the ride quality. SOLUTION: In this assembly of a tire and a rim for a motorcycle comprising a tire l, a rim 5 to rim-assemble the tire 1, and a sponge-like mousse body 7 having annular and closed cells in the circumferential direction of the tire which is mounted in an internal cavity of the tire surrounded by the tire 1 and the rim 5 and substantially brought into contact with the whole inner surface of the tire and compressed thereby, the expansion ratio of the sponge-like mousse body 7 is 500 to 1500%, and the expansion ratio is increased from an inner layer area to a surface layer area of the sponge-like mousse 7.
