PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable hair cosmetic excellent in effects of impartment of pliability, smoothness, a moist feeling and a dry feeling to hair. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic comprises (A) a cationic surfactant represented by the formula (1) (R1 denotes an 8-24C alkyl group or an 8-24C alkenyl group; R2 denotes a 1-5C alkylene group; R3, R4 and R5 denote each a 1-24C alkyl group, a 1-24C alkenyl group or a 1-24C hydroxyalkyl group; and X- denotes an anion) and (B) an amino-modified silicone. The pH of the hair cosmetic is <=4.5.
