PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the capturing performance for coating material particles contained in waste gas flow f compared to the conventional one only by simply modifying an existing wet scrubber to facilitate the application to an existing working spray booth 20 in the wet scrubber provided with a venturi shaped structural part 1, through which the waste gas flow f is passed and accelerated and on the inside surface 4a, 4b of which water w is supplied and flows down. SOLUTION: A venturi throat part 2 in the wet scrubber having the structure is provided with a rebounding means (e.g. a ring of circular tube) for receiving the water w flowing down on the inside walls 4a and 4b of the venturi shaped structural part 1, changing the flow direction from horizontal to upward and releasing toward the flow passage center zone s of the gas flow and is structured to form a water group 5 of fine drops in the flow passage center zone s.
