PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating containing a new photocatalyst which is usable of visible light and an article utilizing this coating. SOLUTION: A coating comprising a polycondensation product from an organic polysiloxane compound and a photocatalyst particle wherein the photocatalyst coating has a stable oxygen deficiency and is an oxidative semiconductor having activities under radiation of visible light. An article having the coating applied onto the surface of a substrate is provided.
