PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an actual device occupation area required for removing or rotationally operating a shell cover in jam treatment and maintenance in a conventional image forming device. SOLUTION: An image forming unit and a discharge space 30 discharging a sheet carrying a formed image are arranged between a leader unit 1 and a paper feed cassette 10. In addition, a displaceable opening guide 31 is arranged toward the discharge space 30 so as to allow the image forming unit to open onto the discharge space 30 side.
