NEW ARGININE DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound usable as a new connective tissue (protein) glycation marker in a clinical test region. SOLUTION: This compound is N-ω-carboxymethylarginine (sometimes abbreviated to CMA) of the formula: HOOC-CH(NH2)-CH2-CH2-CH2-NH-C(=NH)NH- CH2-COOH. The use of the connective tissue glycation marker comprising the CMA is provided.
