PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image free from density irregularity at a high speed. SOLUTION: A temp. sensor 81 and a humidity sensor 82 are arranged in the vicinity of a recording rotary drum and a pressure sensor 83 for detecting the suction pressure of air for drawing a recording medium to the outer periphery of the recording rotary drum is arranged and using environment data such as temp., humidity, pressure or the like are detected by those sensors and the detection data V1, V2, V3 are supplied to a CPU 86 through a sensor value detection circuit 84. The CPU 86 compares the data stored in a memory circuit 87 with the detection data to control the rotational speed of a motor M for rotationally driving the recording rotary drum. The number of rotations of the recording rotary drum is set to a predetermined number in an environment of usage lowering thermal transfer sensitivity and controlled to the high number of rotations in an environment of usage increasing thermal transfer sensitivity. As a result, a thermal transfer time is controlled corresponding to use environment and an image free from density irregularity can be recorded efficiently.
