PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a composite printer which houses a card reader and a printer in a single case body. SOLUTION: Composite printers 20 and 30 each housing card readers 26 and 36 and printers 24 and 34 respectively in a single case body are connected to a host computer 10 through USB hubs 22 and 32. Consequently, the host computer 10 becomes capable of discerning the card readers 26 and 36 and the printers 24 and 34 respectively as independent equipment. Because of this, the host computer 10 can utilize effectively the card readers 26 and 36 and the printers 24 and 34 respectively as the independent equipment.
