PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-diameter disklike cutting tool that works as a cutting tool for stone, concrete and the like and employs a disk of low-carbon wear resisting steel that can be effectively stiffened. SOLUTION: A low-carbon wear resisting steel plate is formed into a large- diameter disk, which is subjected to the first stiffening where its given annular portion except the peripheral edge is heated and tempered and next to the second stiffening where the tempered portion is drawn, so that the circumferential edge of the disk is afforded circumferential tensile stress.
