PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent liquid detergent composition that can eliminate a contaminant from a surface of a food, tableware kitchenware or the like, causes no trouble on health, has no bad influence to aroma when it is used and does not produce a waste water polluting the environment after the use thereof. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition comprises (1) a citrate of 0.5-5 wt.% on the basis of the whole composition, (2) 0.5-10 wt.% of a lower alcohol, (3) 5-15 wt.% of a condensate of a coconut oil fatty acid and (4) 70-94 wt.% of water, the composition being possible to use particularly in cleaning a food, tableware, kitchenware or the like.
