PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a long-sized ink-jet head comprising a substantially large number of nozzles by using a plurality of ordinary ink-jet heads not having a relatively large number of nozzles. SOLUTION: This device comprises a plurality of head parts 11 having at least one nozzle row 400 in each head part 11, and a sub carriage 12 capable of holding the plurality of the head parts 11, wherein the plurality of the head parts 11 are arranged on the sub carriage 12 straightly such that the nozzle rows 400 of the plurality of the head parts 11 are disposed substantially linearly.
