PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold coating applying method by which a coating can be recovered when the coating is previously applied to the cavity of a mold in order to achieve the simultaneous molding and coating of a molding. SOLUTION: After the injection of a solution of a coating M into the cavity 17 of a closed mold 7, a motor is driven to reduce the internal pressure of the cavity 17. Then a solvent contained in the coating M boils and on account of an increase in the volume of the coating M and the breaking of bubbles during boiling, the coating M is applied to the wall face of the cavity 17 to form a coating film layer on the wall face of the cavity 17. Thus it is possible to stick the coating M discharged from a discharge aperture 25 to the wall face of a recovery box 26 to achieve the recovery of the coating M, when the coating film layer is formed in the cavity 17.
