PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disuse a conventional balance weight to reduce weight and to miniaturize a scroll type compressor by providing a projection restraining member with a function as a balance weight. SOLUTION: This scroll type compressor is provided with a turning scroll rotation impeding mechanism provided with a turning pin 31 projected from the end plate of a turning scroll 15, a housing pin 32 projected from a housing and a projection restraining member 33 rotating while sliding the turning pin 31 and housing pin 32 to regulate maximum displacement while allowing radial displacement. In this case, the center of gravity of the projection restraining member 33 is set into a relative position to the turning pin 31 loosely fitted into an oblong hole 32, with the housing pin 32 loosely fitted in the oblong hole 34, in between. This results in providing the projection restraining member 33 with the amount of unbalance shifted in phase by 180±from the turning scroll 15, thereby improving the balance of a rotating shaft following the rotation of the turning scroll 15.
