PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating for the removal of nitrogen oxide in air which contains a novel photocatalyst capable of utilizing visible light and an article for the removal of nitrogen oxide in air using the coating. SOLUTION: This photocatalyst coating for the removal of nitrogen oxide in air comprises a polycondensation product of an organopolysiloxane compound and photocatalyst particles wherein the photocatalyst is a titanium dioxide having stabilized oxygen defect and having an activity under irradiation of visible light. An article for the removal of nitrogen oxide in air is provided with the coating on the substrate surface.
