PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of an electrode by suppressing and preventing the local consumption of the oxide non-soluble electrode in an electric plating device. SOLUTION: The local consumption of non-soluble electrodes disposed facing each other above and below a steel strip P is generated in a specific area A of an electrode (11) on the low electric potential side, i.e., in an area in which the condition change of the cathode (the reducing atmosphere) and the anode (the oxidizing atmosphere) as the lot of the steel strip P is changed (from the wide size to the narrow size) in repeated. This area A is of a recessed shape 11, and its electrode surface LM is lower than a reference electrode surface LS to reduce the differential electric potential from the electrode (12) On the high electric potential side (preferably 1.0 V or under). The repetition of the condition change of the cathode/anode, and the local consumption attributable thereto are suppressed and prevented. The stepΔG of the electrode surface LM with respect to the reference electrode surface LS is appropriately set according to the differential electric potential from the electrode 12 on the high electric potential side.
