PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic electrodeposition coating, which does not contain injurious materials including lead compounds and chromium compounds, whose coating film is not reduced in corrosion prevention and adhesion, even if it is cured at a temperature as low as 150-160 deg.C, which shows excellent rust prevention when applied to an untreated steel plate, and which is excellent in edge rust prevention, throwing power, chemical resistance, smoothness and the like. SOLUTION: The cationic electrodeposition coating comprises (A) a resin for the cationic electrodeposition coating and (B) a hydrotalcite-based solid solution represented by the following formula (1): [(Mg2+)y(M22+)(1-y)]1-xM3+×(OH)2An-x/n.mH2O (wherein, M22+ shows at least one bivalent metal selected from the group consisting of Zn, Cd, Pb, Ca and Sr; M3+ is a trivalent metal; An- is an n-valent anion; and x, y1, y2 and m are each a positive number satisfying the following conditions: 0<x<=0.5, 0<y<1, 0<=m<2).
