PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold coating applying method by which a coating can be efficiently applied to the cavity of a mold. SOLUTION: After the injection of a solution of a coating M into the cavity 17 of a closed mold 7, a vacuum pump 34 is driven to reduce the internal pressure of the cavity 17. Then a solvent contained in the coating M boils. On account of an increase in the volume of the coating M and the breaking of bubbles during boiling, the coating M is efficiently applied to the wall face of the cavity 17. Further, due to the vaporization of the solvent contained in the coating M, a urethane resin of the coating M is uniformly formed on the wall face of the cavity 17 as a coating film layer. In addition, an urethane material is added by injection in the cavity 17 to be cured through a chemical reaction. Thus it is possible to perform the simultaneous molding and coating of the resin part of a steering wheel.
