PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the running cost in the next process, the manufacturing cost of a device and space for the device, miniaturize the device, facilitate the introduction of automation, and improve workability. SOLUTION: A glass disk polishing device 1 is used for polishing the surface of a glass disk 10 and has an arm section 21 to rotatably hold the glass disk 10 at its outer peripheral end face, polishing tools 3a and 3b on both faces of the glass disk 10 held by the arm section 21, polishing tool feed-driving sections 4 to attach and detach the polishing tools 3a and 3b to and from the opposing disk faces, and a rotation drive section 5 to drive the rotation of the polishing tools 3a and 3b. This device polishes both faces of the disk 10 with the polishing tools 3a and 3b abutting on both face of the disk 10 by moving and rotating the polishing tools 3a and 3b by means of the feed-driving sections 4 and the rotation drive section 5 respectively.
