The invention concerns an electronic card with non-volatile storage wherein are stored the card bearer's identification characteristics, for comparison of said characteristics with characteristics introduced during an authenticating sequence. Dynamic signature characteristics of the bearer are stored in the non-volatile storage (26). The card further comprises a zone (12) for producing a signature to be authenticated, and processing means (14) for supplying dynamic characteristics of the signature, means for comparing (24) the signature dynamic characteristics with the characteristics recorded in the non-volatile storage (26), and means for powering the processing means and/or the comparing means outside a reader designed for reading data in the card. |
