PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating bottom surface maintenance construction method and a device therefor remarkably accurately and quickly performable more than a conventional construction method since an operator of an excavating machine such as a backhoe can perform the construction method by oneself at maintenance time of an excavating bottom surface in the prescribed depth by performing excavation by the excavating machine such as a backhoe in pipe burying work. SOLUTION: This excavating bottom surface maintenance construction method and a device therefor are constituted of a target plate 1, a baseplate 4, a column 7 for connecting the target plate 1 and the baseplate 4 and an arm 5 forming an arch shape by extending upward from both end parts on a plane of the baseplate 4. The target plate 1 is provided with horizontal graduations 2, a weight 3 and a level gauge 6.
