PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus and an image forming apparatus capable of being reduced in size and cost as a whole and capable of reconciling an increase in speed with low power consumption. SOLUTION: An endlessly driven film 2 and a particle supply brush 4 for supplying the particles 1 in a particle feeder 5 to the film to form a thin particle layer on the surface of the film are arranged. A heating head 6 is provided inside the film 2 at the position opposed to the paper 18 fed on a feed device 19 and a heating head driving device 7 supplying power to the heating head to heat a predetermined region corresponding to image data is provided. By this constitution, the predetermined particles 1 on the film 2 are suddenly heated by the heating head 6 and the particles 1 are discharged by the expansion pressure due to heating to be bonded to the paper 18.
