PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-density foam having a high closed cell content from an olefin resin having a poor foamability. SOLUTION: A polyolefin resin foam is produced by a process which is characterized in that a base resin comprising 60-97 wt.% polyolefin resin and 4-40 wt.% silane-crosslinkable polyolefin resin, a crosslinking catalyst, a crosslinker, and a blowing agent are melt mixed and kneaded in an extruder; the resultant melt mixture under kneading is subjected to crosslinking in the extruder to such a degree that the extrusion of the mixture is not made impossible; and then the mixture is subjected to extrusion foaming.
