PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking support device capable of automatically starting to make preparation for garaging a vehicle when the vehicle comes to park, eliminating operations incidental to the start of parking, and being easily operated not to disturb the natural flow of parking operation by a driver. SOLUTION: When a vehicle detecting means 5 provided at the entrance of a garage detects a vehicle 13, a parking support device 23 is started. A lighting system 11 lights to transmit a photographed image of an image pick-up camera 3 from a communication device 7 on the parking facility side to a communication device 15 on the vehicle side to display the image on a display device 17 in the vehicle. A driver can safely perform the parking operation while confirming the surrounding state based on the image photographed by the camera. When parking is completed and the vehicle is put into the P(parking) range, the device turns off the lighting system 11 to automatically stop the action of the image pick-up camera 3 or the like.
