Method and apparatus for manufacturing a tire carcass

An apparatus (4) and method of manufacturing a tire carcass (20) is disclosed. The apparatus (4) includes a rubber carcass forming and shaping mold (60) having a first portion (64) and a second portion (65) and a solid core (62), the first (64) is movable while the core (62) includes an air fluid nozzle (70) which when pressurized, releases the carcass (20) from the core (62). The opening and closing of the first (64) in combination with the pressurized core (62) provide a novel method of removing the molded carcass (20) automatically from the mold (60).
