The airship (1) comprises a hull (2) and forward propulsion devices. An axial channel (6) extends through the hull with openings at the front (7) and rear (8) sides. The propulsion devices create an air flow through the axial channel. The channel extends along the central longitudinal axis of the hull. The air flow can be produced from the front to the rear opening or vice-versa. The forward propulsion devices involve a propeller (10) fitted in the centermost area of the axial channel. Also in the channel one or more noise dampers (15,16) are installed, preferably between each of the openings and the propeller.
