PURPOSE: A vehicle hood hinge is provided to protect a pedestrian against the impact by breaking first and second rods and lowering at a collision of the hood and a pedestrian. CONSTITUTION: A hood hinge is composed of a first rod(3) installed in the lower part of a hood(51) to turn around a first hinge(1) in a side and mounted in a fender apron to turn around a second hinge(2) in the other side, and a second rod(6) installed in the hood to turn around a third hinge(4) with being separated from the first hinge in a side and mounted in the fender apron by a fourth hinge in the other side to be longer than the first rod. The shock is buffered by moving the hood down on bumping a pedestrian against the hood, and absorbed by breaking the rods supporting the hood and by shortening the length of rods. |
