PURPOSE: A thin film transistor liquid crystal display device is provided to constantly maintain capacitance between a scan line and a drain electrode although scan and signal lines are misaligned, by forming a channel region on the scan line and forming the drain electrode in parallel with the signal line and longer than a line width of the scan line. CONSTITUTION: A scan line(gate electrode)(111) is formed on a transparent substrate(107). After forming an insulating layer(113), a semiconductor layer(115) and an n+ layer(116) are sequentially stacked on a resultant structure. A channel layer(115) and an ohmic contact layer(116) are formed by etching the semiconductor layer(115) and the n+ layer(116). Source/drain electrodes(117a,117b) are formed by stacking and patterning a metal. After forming a passivation layer(119) on the substrate(107), and a pixel electrode(121) is formed by stacking indium tin oxide(ITO) on a pixel region. The pixel electrode(121) is electrically connected with the drain electrode(117b) through a contact hole, which is formed in the passivation layer(119). The channel layer(115) is formed more narrowly than a line width of scan and signal lines(111,117a) and placed between the scan line(111) and the signal line(117a). The signal line(117a) serves for a source electrode of a thin film transistor, and an extended pattern of the drain electrode(117b) is fully overlapped with the scan line(111).
